Special AMASI skill course for Kerala flood victims relief

Get in touch

Dear Colleagues,

I, Dr O P Pathania as Head of the Department of Surgery, Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, take this pleasure to invite Surgeons and Gynaecologist for the 58 th AMASI Skill Course to be held at Lady Hardinge Medical College from 19-21 Oct 2018. As planned the earnings from this course will be forwarded to Kerala Chief Ministers relief fund for benefit of the flood victims.

As you will be aware Lady Hardinge Medical College is a Landmark and oldest medical Institution of Delhi. After the capital of British India was shifted to Delhi from Calcutta, Lady Hardinge, the wife of the then Viceroy of India, took the initiative for starting a medical college for women. She was actively involved in collecting funds from the princely states and the public and raised a huge sum of 15 lakhs of rupees to build a Medical College. The foundation stone of this institution was laid by Lady Hardinge, on 17 March 1914. The college was eventually inaugurated on 7 February 1916 by the then Viceroy of India - Charles Hardinge. The college was then affiliated to Punjab University. The students had to go to take up their examination on successful completion of their curriculum to King Edward Medical College, Lahore. The college became affiliated to the University of Delhi in 1950 and post-graduate courses were started in 1954.

The college has three attached teaching hospitals- Smt. Sucheta Kriplani Hospital, Kalawati Saran Children Hospital (since 1956), and Dr RML Hospital (since 1965), for teaching & training of undergraduate and postgraduate students (both male and female students). The college and hospitals provide tertiary level medical facilities to patients from Delhi and Northern India.

The College has come a long way in the last 100 years, still retaining its unique character. It is ranked among the top 10 medical colleges in India. This Institute has produced some world renowned professionals, occupying top-notch positions and serving mankind across the globe.

Once again, it is my pleasure to invite all Surgeons and Gynaecologist for the AMASI skill course to be held in this prestigious institution of India, in this beautiful and historic city of Delhi.
